Why is modern art so expensive ?

- I was also perplexed at this question - Why would some squiggles and random strokes on a canvas be sold for millions of dollars ? This led me to some browsing around the web. Finally, I think it makes sense.
- The point about photography, in a sense, killing off "representative art" really resonated with me. As an avid photographer myself, I could understand this. Using today's tools and technology, representing outside world is not a challenge anymore.
