Day 6: Generation Gap was always there and will always be there

I was watching The Mitchells vs The Machines, a very fun, poignant movie about family and father-daughter relationship. Movie depicts father concerned that daughter will fail and get hurt as he did. And the daughter just wants to do her thing - making movies and going to film school. She also feels her father is holding her back. On the other hand, The father can't comprehend how "Yub Tub" will suffice for the life ahead.

It is not like this is new. We constantly are dealing with such gaps in understanding on both personal and professional level. Our thinking is shaped by the life we have lived, the decisions that we have made and the feedback on those decisions by the "universe". So, if you have been successful on YouTube, you will surely understand if your fellow professionals or children want to pursue creative arts.

If you have never been exposed to the creative side, you will not be able to think about how this will help in your life. Hence, the gaps in thinking and understanding.

The only solution to all this is, accept the fact that there is a whole world out there that you don't know and can't understand. So, all views are acceptable unless they are against basic human ethics. Let all views propagate and let people figure out themselves what is needed. This way, you will gain new knowledge and new feedback loops about the world. And your personal and professional relationships will not suffer.
